Summary :

Ear Nose and Throat Consultant

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Otolaryngology by the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and the Organization’s policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties :

Clinical Responsibilities :

Ear Nose and Throat Consultant

Provides high-quality patient care in all aspects of Otolaryngology according to his/her approved clinical privileges.
Provides consultation (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request and responds promptly within the prescribed timeframe as outlined in Hospital policy.
Responsible for the timely completion, competencies, accuracy, and eligibility of the medical record.
Provides on-call service and ensures availability and response time within the prescribed timeframe by Hospital policy.
Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge. Ensures that discharge orders are written 24 hours before discharge.
Performs any other clinical responsibilities related to Otolaryngology, as assigned.

Academic Responsibilities :

Ear Nose and Throat Consultant

Provides orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
Participates in the Department’s educational activities and training programs. Partakes in national and international medical conferences.
Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.

Research Responsibilities :

Participates in clinical, basic, and translational research projects by the Research Advisory Council Policy to advance knowledge, improve the quality of postgraduate education, and contribute to the national and international recognition of the Hospital.

Education :

Graduation from an accredited medical school, completion of the required period of training in specialty and/or subspecialty, with Arab or American Board certification, membership, and/or fellowship status in the United Kingdom and/or Canada or their equivalent.

Experience Required :

Seven (7) Years of training in a specialty or subspecialty plus postgraduate training experience must be equal to or exceed seven (7) years of experience in the subspecialty.

Assistant Consultant Cardiac Surgery

-Assists the Consultants in providing required patient care and management in the field of Cardiac Surgery, by the standards of medical care laid down by KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.).

-Studies and performs assessment, examination,n, and compilation of a case history and assists in the diagnosis and management of the patient by criteria listed in diagnostic manuals such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

-Provides on-call coverage for their specialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

-Prepares for and participates in consultant and specialist ward rounds as per policy.  Documents findings in medical records.

-Follows up on investigation results for outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly.

Assistant Consultant Cardiac Surgery

*Academic Responsibilities :

-Provides orientation, bedside training,g and supervision of interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.

-Keeps abreast of all the latest techniques and developments, especially in areas of specialization.  Implements them on a selective basis to improve technical standards.

-Participates in the educational activities and training programs of the Department.

*Research Responsibilities :

-Participates in clinical, basic,c, and translational research projects and published papers Research Advisory Council Policy to advance knowledge, improve the quality of post-graduate education,n and contribute to the national and international recognition of KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.).

*Administrative Responsibilities :

-Undertakes the administrative duties assigned by the Section Head or Chairman of the Department.

-Participates in all mandatory Departmental activities and serves on Departmental and Hospital committees, as required.

-Assists the Department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the Department and across the KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.).

Two (2) years of training in specialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience required.

Other Requirements(Certificates) :

Minimum of two (2) publications in Lung Transplantation.
