JOB PURPOSE:
Shift Supervisor
To plan and coordinate the plant operation activities during the shift and supervise the tasks performed by the team, to achieve planned shift production targets, whilst complying with HSSE and quality guidelines and operational work instructions.
Key Accountabilities :
People Management
Shift Supervisor
Supervise the activities and work of the team members to ensure that production targets and objectives are achieved and the operational plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures, and systems.
Operations Management :
Supervise the day-operatorsof shift operators and manage all plant operating activities (E.g. interlock checks on start-ups, Shutdowns, emergencies, equipment protection protectandn tests,andddd nonactivitiesctivities like preservation, acid ,leaning, Suri ensuring they are executed safely and efficiently srational operational area meets required targets.
Have a complete understanpermit-to-workrmit-to-work system applied tissues andnt acancel permits cancel permits to work as per authorization.
Normalize the equipment after release and perform necessary testing to check the equipment or system after maintenance.
Organise and plan the activities in such a way that work is carried out to the required standard with minimum rismachanand materialsacCsCterdinatenate.
Coordinate with all other departments for activities that are related to plant operations during the shift and ensure their timely execution as per the plan.
Technical Guidance :
Address issues escalated bandand provides and provide timely resolutions, where possible, to achieve continuous operations.
Ensure regular inspections are conducted during the shift to identify abnormhaha hahaporderrds azards, safeunsafe conditions, and take appropriate actions within the established guidelines to correct the same.
Act as the issuing authority, preparing permits to ensure all the work execution requirements are ito carry out workried out safely.
Maintenance Support :
Oversee and manage the commissioning and start-up activishift operating with the approved operating procththe maintenanceinate with Maintenance team during the shift andminor/majorany minor/major activcomplete the safely safely, as per the established plan.
Documentation :
Ensure plant operational status is communicated both verbally and in writing at all shift change-overs, and that all documentation for the plant activities including the log book and status reports are completed accurately.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment :
Monitor the adheenvironmentalen tal health,, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Ensure th,at all accident duringcidents, or near misses occurring during the shift are properly reported as per established procedures.
Manage an emergency during the shift as per the company emergency response plan until relietogher authority, to ensure minimum impact of the hazard.
Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures :
Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standraidedting proc driedes, and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.
Continuous Improvement :
Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organization’s standards.
Related Assignments :
Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.
Internal:
Needs to work closely with Shift/ Operation Manager and CCR Operators/ Engineers, Shift Chemist, Planning Engineer, Maintenance Team, HSE Engineer, Purchaser, storekeeper etc.
External:
Needs to build a rapport with relevant contractors and OEMs
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree holder in Engineering / Technical Diploma in Engineering
Minimum Experience:
6 years experience in power and water desalination in a plant environment with a Technical Diploma, the number of years needed would be at least 10 years.
Skills:
Knowledge of relevant plant equipment
SAP working knowledge is preferred
Knowledge of good house-keeping of the plant
ISO9001, 14001; OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred
Practical knowledge of maintenance principles including but not limited to identifica,tion, classification, disposal of waste and emission monitoring
Awareness of HSE & quality standards knowledge of downtime analysis and good knowledge of problem solving tools
Knowledge of power, water desalination, operational activities
Mentoring, coaching and people management skills
Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills
Teamwork and effective collaboration skills
